When Is Cantaloupe Ripe?

It is important that you know when a cantaloupe is ripe and okay to eat. One of the trademarks of ripe cantaloupes is the fact that they are relatively heavy for their size as well as extremely fragrant. You will most likely notice that a ripe cantaloupe is quite soft at the blossom end as well. Good ripe cantaloupes do not have any soft spots nor do they have “bruises” on them.

You will find that an unripe cantaloupe have a lower textured web skin which is usually green in color. When cantaloupes are ripe, this skin is typically a golden orange color.
