Should Cantaloupe Be Refrigerated?

If you do not plan on eating the cantaloupe you have purchased from your local grocery store right away, it might be a good idea to refrigerate it until you are ready to eat it. You should not keep cantaloupe in the refrigerator for more than two to three days though, as it will start to go bad after that.

If you want to soften it up you can also choose to freeze it and when it thaws out completely the texture will not be as hard. Those who want to keep their cantaloupe from going bad after they get it home from the store will definitely want to think about keeping it in the refrigerator, especially if they are not going to be eating it right away.
