Tuna comes from actual tuna fish and they are not considered to be a type of dolphin or anything of the sort. There is most likely some confusion surrounding this issue because of the fact that dolphins would often times get caught up in the nets which were meant to catch tuna in the ocean. Sometimes people claim to find traces of dolphin in their canned tuna, though this is most likely a rare occurrence.

There is also probably some confusion as to whether or not tuna is actually dolphin because there is often times a picture of a dolphin on tuna cans which can lead some people to draw the incorrect conclusion that tuna is actually dolphin when in reality it is a fish of its own.
