Is Spinach High In Iron?

Spinach has a lot of things in it which are absolutely essential for the body, including iron. A cup of raw spinach has about 1 mg of iron in it and while that may not be a terribly significant amount, it is still worth taking note of when looking at the overall nutrition of this vegetable.

Spinach also has a lot of other things that are important for the body to have, such s antioxidants along with certain vitamins and minerals that are good for you as a whole. One of the things you will want to know about spinach is that it contains oxalic acid which has been known to bind with iron and thereby inhibiting its absorption in the body.
