Is Lobster High In Sodium?

Lobster contains about 179mg of sodium for every 3 ounces so it has a fairly significant amount. Compared to other types of seafood like catfish, herring, and clams it has quite a bit of sodium. Caviar has some of the sodium of any seafood with 1,871 mg for every 3 ounces. Although it is true that lobster has quite a bit of sodium in it, there are many nutritious things about this type of seafood such as the fact that is packed with potassium, selenium, zinc, and phosphorus.

Studies have been done which indicate that the minerals and nutrients that are found in zinc can actually help to strengthen the immune system. Those who are trying to cut down on their sodium intake however will definitely want to limit the amount of lobster they eat on a regular basis.
