Is Garlic Safe During Pregnancy?

Pregnant women will want to limit how much garlic they eat for a number of reasons, including the fact that it can act as a blood thinner if it is consumed in large amounts. There have been numerous studies done on the affects of garlic on pregnant women, though none of them yielded any noteworthy results.

As long as garlic is not consumed in extremely high amounts, pregnant women should be okay with eating it once in a while. Garlic does however have some components in it that can pass through the placenta and into the amniotic fluid, which could cause problems with the birth or baby.
