It is fairly easy to grow garlic, but you will have to know what you are doing before you get started. First you will want to plant individual cloves of garlic at the right time of year, which is in the fall around October being the best time. Make sure you break apart all of the individual cloves and put them into the ground in rows. Although you can pay them in any pattern you choose, organizing them into rows might be a better idea, just to keep it simple. Once spring comes around the garlic will begin to start really growing and it will get larger without any help. Make sure to cut the scape in late spring so that the bulbs can grow as large as possible.
When you start to see the stems turn a brownish color and begin to tilt, that is when you will want to harvest them by simply pulling all of them from the ground. Make sure that you thoroughly rinse out the bulb as well as cutting all the roots. Then you will need to hang the garlic up in a dry and dark place till they are ready to be used. While it is a relatively simple thing to do, it is important to follow these instructions to the letter in order to get the best results possible.
