Does Tuna Contain Starch?

Tuna does not contain any starch because of the fact that animals store glucose which is considered to be a highly branched polymer known as glycogen. There are certain health benefits and risks to consuming starch which you should be aware of. Starch makes up a huge source of calories for many people around the world and is considered to be a nutrient which is part of the carbohydrate family.

These nutrients contain over fifty percent energy and are consumed by a vast majority of people. Although starch used to be referred to as a “complex carbohydrate”, this is normal true because of the fact that the terms simple and complex carbohydrates cannot completely and accurately distinguish the differences between the two with regards to the impact they have on the body.
