Does Mayonnaise Cause Gas?

Certain people that are lactose intolerant can experience problems with gas after eating mayonnaise, though this type of reaction is fairly unlikely because of the fact that mayonnaise is typically not a dairy product as it is a condiment typically made from oil, egg yolks, lemon juice or vinegar, water, and often mustard.

However, there are mayonnaise recipes that also use milk!

So if you have a milk allergy, check the ingredients list first and make sure there is no milk used in the recipe.

If you experience problems such as bloating, gas, cramping, nausea, or any other symptoms just after eating mayonnaise, it is recommended that you limit how much you eat on a regular basis or cut it out from your diet altogether.
