When garlic is ingested it is eventually dissolved in the intestine and not the stomach which many people confuse. It contains a lot of the chemical which is known as allicin and it is responsible for its many different medicinal benefits. Allicin is also what causes the potent smell which is closely associated with garlic.
Although there are certain products which are intentionally made to be odorless, this tends to adversely affect the medicinal benefits which they have for people who are struggling with a number of different conditions. It is a fairly common myth that water will dissolve garlic it is left in long enough although this is completely untrue.
