Can Walnuts Cause Canker Sores?

Most of us have had canker sores in our mouths at some point and we all know they aren’t fun to deal with. There are certain food which when eaten can increase the chances of developing these sores, including walnuts. English walnuts in particular are good at causing canker sores.

Some of the other foods that you will want to stay away from eating large quantities of if you are prone to canker sores is chocolate, citrus foods, pecans, macadamia nuts, and of course walnuts. Because of the high l-arginine content walnuts have, they increase the likelihood for developing canker sores and even cold sores in or around the mouth.
