Can Tomatoes Cause Hives?

Those who are allergic to tomatoes can experience hives as an adverse reaction, though it only occurs in those who have this specific allergy. If you are not sure certain of whether or not you are allergic to certain foods like tomatoes, it is important to get yourself tested or your children as the case may be.

If after eating a tomato you experience raised bumps on the skin which resemble hives, you have most likely had an allergic reaction. Although in most cases an allergy to tomatoes is not very serious and does not exceed mild hives, it can be more severe, causing respiratory problems with breathing.
