Chickens are known for eating just about anything you throw at them, or at least pecking at it to get a taste. Giving fruits and vegetables to your chickens at a treat is fine and for the most part is even healthy for them. However, there are some things which should not be fed to chickens either because they are mildly unhealthy or outright dangerous.
But what about pears? Can chickens eat pears?
Yes, they can!
Chickens love most fruits, and pears are no exception. Pears are healthy for chickens, and you can give it to them without having to worry. Citrus fruits should be avoided, as well as avocado. Raw potatoes should also not be given to chickens, because they contain a toxic substance called solanine.
