Can Broccoli Be Roasted?

Not only can it, but many claim it is the best way you’ll ever have broccoli in your life.

Basically, it consists of baking 4 or 5 pounds of broccoli that have been cut and sliced into round pieces for about 15-20 minutes at 400-450 degrees. Be sure to use some kind of oil – the most popular being olive oil – to ensure the broccoli doesn’t dry out or burn. And also before cooking, you can mix it with some salt and pepper. But like I said, that’s just the most basic route. There are so many ways it can be done!

Some prefer to toss it with lemon juice, lemon zest, and parmesan cheese before baking. There’s also the idea of mixing it with peeled and sliced garlic cloves beforehand as well. People like to add pine nuts, panko breadcrumbs, almonds, ginger, chilis, tarmari… in fact, the possibilities are endless. The best recipe I can recommend is the one you create yourself. Think about what you’d love to eat with broccoli, put on your creative pants, and go on – roast your own!
