Our pets seems to always love to eat our food, and most pet owners enjoy giving “people food†to their pets. For the most part, it’s alright to give your pets some of your food, but there are cases where it’s definitely NOT alright.
What about giving tomatoes to your hamster? Are tomatoes safe for hamsters to eat?
No, absolutely not! While it’s most likely not deadly, tomatoes are far too acidic for hamsters, and any more than a few bites will probably make them sick.
The same also goes for the leaves of the tomato plant, which are also too acidic for hamsters and can give them diarrhea.
