Are Pecans Safe For Hamsters?

Although it is generally not recommended that you feed hamsters nuts because some of them are very high in fat, this does not apply to pecans which actually have mostly unsaturated fats which are the good kind for your body. It is perfectly acceptable for you to feed your pet hamsters pecans as long as you do so in moderation.

Hamsters typically do not have any problem with eating and digesting most nuts including pecans. There are a number of things in pecans which are good for the body, including protein and numerous vitamins and omega 3 fats which are especially good for improving certain brain functions.
