There are many people who, for one reason or another, need to closely watch the amount of sugar in their diets. This is especially true for diabetics, however there are many other possible reasons to want to control sugar intake. The best way to do this is to be aware of which foods are naturally high in sugar so that you can try to avoid those foods.
So what about pears? Are pears high in sugar?
Pears do contain a moderately high amount of sugar, with a medium sized pear containing approximately 17.4 grams of sugar. However, it is important to note that the natural sugar found in fruits and vegetables is not the same as the processed sugars found in things like candy and soft drinks.
