Everyone who has a dog knows that they want to eat anything and everything that they see people eating, even if it’s not something that would be a natural part of their diet. For the most part it’s fairly safe to give your dog a taste of your food, but there are definitely some exceptions. Most people know that chocolate is bad for dogs, but there are many other foods which can be dangerous for dogs to eat.
But what about pears? Are pears bad for dogs?
For the most part they are safe, however there is one important exception. The seeds which are sometimes found in pears are very dangerous for both dogs and humans. Pear seeds can become cyanide during the digestion process and too much can be fatal.
The flesh of the fruit is perfectly safe for dogs to eat, just make sure there are no seeds.
