Are Grapes Considered Drupes?

A drupe, or stone fruit, is the name for a fruit which has a soft outer flesh surrounding a hard inner core. Examples of commonly known drupes include peaches and cherries, although there are many others.

So what about grapes? Are grapes considered drupes?

No, grapes are not considered drupes. Even grapes with seeds do not technically have a hard inner core (stone) inside them.

An interesting fact about berries, however, is that they are actually berries!
