Are Blueberries Antioxidants?

Blueberries are often referred to as the number one antioxidant fruit because of what they contain. Although we hear the word “antioxidants” quite a bit when referring to food, few people actually know what they really are.

Antioxidants are essentially good for neutralizing what are called free-radicals which can lead to all sorts of health problems, including cancer and other diseases which are closely associated with aging.

The molecules in antioxidants fight against cell damage which is caused by these diseases and blueberries contain a lot of them, so they are considered to be a very healthy fruit to eat.
