Squid does in fact have blood and it is very rich in copper as well as protein hemocyanin which plays an important role in the processing of transporting oxygen. These sea creatures actually have three hearts, two of which are branchial and feed the gills with the larger surrounding heart that is responsible for pumping blood all throughout the body.
The hearts that squids have are a very faint green color and their kidneys stretch from the hearts to the liver. Their main systemic heart is comprised of the lower ventricle, the auricles, and the three chambers.
So, where’s the photo of the blue squid blood??
